Akaloo is lifelong faith formation for the whole congregation - children, youth, and adults. The name Akaloo is inspired by the Greek word ακολουΘειν : akolouthein ("to follow"). Jesus said to his disciples, "Follow me." Drop your nests. A new life awaits you. Akaloo is based on this simple, radical call to discipleship. Akaloo is following Jesus as body of Christ.
You are invited to move beyond "Sunday School"
We all want to build disciples for life. However, we don't always use a
lifelong approach. Instead, "faith formation" is often limited to
Sunday school or confirmation. Akaloo changes all that. Akaloo is
intentionally deciding to follow Jesus that covers the entire
lifespan, children through adults.
We need LEADERS who want to build these followers of Jesus. No
experience necessary! Will train. Teams are encouraged.
We also want PARTICIPANTS of all ages. Rally Day, our first day of
Sunday school, is September 13. Mark your calendar – bring the whole
family to register to grow through Akaloo: following Jesus.
For more info, please talk to any member of the Christian Education Team (C.E.T.): Mary Karsnia (chair), Nelson Hinz, Amanda Preissner, Betsy Rogalsky, Joan Wade and Pastor Kelly Taylor Schaus.
